LE COMPTE-RENDU
RAPPEL :
La méthode de compte-rendu de l’épreuve d’anglais au BTS :
Compte rendu en anglais d’un texte original en francais (ou inversement)
* Situer brièvement le texte sansdonner le titre.
* Exprimer avec des phrases simples ce que vous avez compris sans reprendre les expressions du texte : reformulez.
* Utilisez des mots de liaison et du vocabulaireprofessionnel. Méfiez-vous du dictionnaire et re-vérifiez toujours le sens d’un mot que vous ne connaissez pas avant de l’utiliser.
* Faites ressortir un maximum d’idées du texte tout en montrant en quoielles sont liées pour faire ressortir la finalité de l’article. Méfiez vous des exemples.
* Attention a la différence avec un commentaire de texte pas de « l’auteur dit que… »

People are volontary surrending their privacy

Georges Orwell got it wrong. In the developed world, it is not the state that has ushered in a « Big Brother » society but societyitself. Every day, people are adopting new technologies that trade a small amount of their privacy for greater convenience and security : credit cards, small cards in electronic tollbooths, customerloyalty cards, cash-withdrawal machines… As for surveillance cameras, they have become so widely accepted that they have bred a genre of mass entertainment in the form of so-called reality TV.Where the public wants security, the willingness to give up privacy is powerfull. That bodes well for the companies hopping to sell personal location technology to people who want to monitor the movementof their pets and loves ones. Worries about child, abductions, for example, mean that people are likely to welcome such devices.

But the loss of privacy may be less obvious where people tradeprivacy for convenience. For example, later this year, a smart card will be introduiced to bring about cashless travel on London’s underground, buses and train services. Few of the 20m who use the…
